Chat box sounds great, it'll keep the posts more on track as well.

There is a good thread on needle-drops going on right now at the Steve Hoffman forums, in the "Hardware" section:

...with discussion of various aspects, including the use of Click Repair.

yes! the hoffman boards are a great resources for techie details on audio, i've had lots of friends find answers to questions there.

i tend to avoid anything automated that does click removal, even though there may be things out there that do a decent job. i've tried a bunch, and none of them satisfy me. so i've always just taken the time to do it manually. probably overly conservative but at least that way i have complete control over what's removed.

some people have particular methods they would prefer for cleaning up audio. for any transfers that came my way, i'd be sure to make the as-transferred audio available to anyone that wanted it. i've had lots of examples in the past where i've only been able to get some altered form of something and it was frustrating :-/

Mal's on his Jollies too. Are you suggesting I'm enjoying these Pizza Oven temperatures and 100% humidity. What an idea! Next thing you'll be suggesting the ice cool beer shouldn't come off the Jimpress expense account.

Can't see it happening, he does not collect anymore. But his interest is still alive :-)
When time allows I'll chat to him again and invite him here.
