only thing is the owners would probably be reluctant to be sending these items
through the mail (i certainly would be). so it might come down to whether they
would be willing and able to do the transfers themselves.

Very true.
But I'm thinking not all of them can do a vinyl transfer for whatever reason.

Hi Guys,

Hi Doug good to hear from you.
Love to get my copie on cd but i do not have a record player anymore.
But i can ask around here in Den Haag if there are Hendrix collectors that have a record player.

Take care,
Bendrix.

Not an uncommon problem with vinyl collectors !
Bendrix and everyone else who is thinking of transfering any of this. Can we decide on the transfer bit rate / Khz etc.
It matter little if we have different hardware but if possible can we bring some common ground to this.
Also, anyone want to do the de-clicking? Again and I don't know if they are up for it, be nice to get in touch with the guys behind the Track set as it was de-clicked well and smashing art.
Failing that anyone else up for it?

Let me know how you want it Gordon.
My doughter works at a place were band play and rehearse she will ask around if there is someone with a very good turntable
there plenty of music folks there, i keep you posted.
Beside Electric Church Music and Driving South With The Jimi Hendrix Experience there is a 3rd one.
Something with the BOG.
I know someone who has got it but i hate that guy so that won't work.
Bendrix.

Doug, what you think?
I’m wondering if we could get two transfers of each LP.
One at 24 Bit 96Khz for the audiophile and one at 16 Bit 44Khz for the philistine
That’s assuming the transfer is to HD. We might be limited by equipment and go straight to CD in which the Bit rate is pre set.

Hate is a waste of an emotion, stick to disliking him :D

well, the bitrate would be wasted if the equipment isn't pretty good. and frankly for
bootlegs the quality probably doesn't warrant 24/96. but a 16/44.1 on good equipment
would be great to have for some of these ultra-rare releases. if someone wanted to
offer 24/96 i wouldn't turn them down :-) but i wouldn't offer to de-click them. high-
resolution audio declicking is slow...

as ben knows i've done my share of vinyl transfers and manual de-clicking for ATM stuff.
the last thing i did was the Blue Thumb acetate which wasn't too long ago. i'd be happy
to work on any transfers that come my way, always with the understanding that it's
as time permits.

wasn't too long ago a friend sent transfers of the Cops and Robbers acetate and the Spicy
Essence one. not sure of the exact equipment used but again the source quality
limits how much i worry about things like that. it's just nice to have these for reference.

Cheers Doug, I am getting the loan of one of the LP's. I'll do this one at 24/96.
I'm not overly concerned about de clicking unless the vinyl is not too good to begin with but I think others are put off listening if it's not clean enough.
If Bendrix can do the ones he has at 16/44 and we can secure a copy of the third we can get the lot out to you Doug.
Again thanks to you, Stan and Bendrix and all others who are helping out.

i miss the old yahoo groups chatbox... ben and i would meet up there every day,
along with occasional others. this place doesn't have a chatbox, does it?

this sounds great, it would be fantastic to get transfers of some of these rarities.
i could contribute "This Flyer" and the somewhat less rare "In Experience" (AF-1001)
with some of the same material. i don't have any of the acetates though...
