Nice bits in the description there, "As seen on PBS" and "critically acclaimed film" when no one has actually seen it yet...very cost effective, saves you a lot of work when the publicity includes the positive reviews already before they have been made.

Wow, new album I thought we'd be all over this... or are we a tad jaded?

Jaded? Nah.
Good to see some restraint for a change, quite honestly I’m sick to the back teeth (what’s left of them) with folk pre judging the releases, giving Janie the verbal’s etc, etc, etc.
But now it’s officially released I’m looking forward to hearing what everyone thinks. The audio (I was lucky enough to get to hear this a little early) is excellent. The recording quality can’t be faulted, the Kramer mix is another plus but I’ve yet to get this to the HiFi so will reserve full comment till then on that issue.
The band are on fire, if we believe what we are told both Mitch and Jimi are tripping pasted themselves here. This is 1968 JHE at their very best. Noel doing what he did best, holding it all together and keeping it grounded and real.
Have watched the BBC broadcast (runs 10 min shorter than the US broadcast btw) and found that overall this docu’ was entertaining if somewhat miss leading to the average viewer. What I took from the docu’ was that we are in for a visual treat these next few years if the “teasers” are anything to go by. My Blu-ray is due in (along with the CD) by the weekend, look forward to AATWT in SBd quality from NYP.
Negative’s? Plenty but I’m sure they can wait till the review in JP 102 and later. For now I’m just enjoying what we have.

Well well, maybe your right Mal.
Not a peep from anyone.
Oh well, just had a session with the CD with some volume, in the interests of JP readers of course and gave the Miami bonus material on the Bluray another look.

Anyone else bothered with this?

Still haven't upgraded to Blu-ray - is there much more on the Blu-ray dvd than the ordinary? Is this the release that takes me into 2005?

I should get mine today. (last time I'll pre-order anything) Can't wait to finally see the bonus material. Did see the doc, not bad, very nice quality on the MSG stuff, that stood out to me

Work has been a terrible distraction from all things Jimi recently, but I'm pleased to report that Live in Miami is a very enjoyable CD. Jimi, Mitch and Noel are all in stonking good form, and Red House is a particular standout. Some of the tracks seem a bit underdeveloped in comparison with Winterland - it's amazing what 5 months can do - but it's an enjoyable snapshot from a period where there's not too many soundboard recordings. I'd be intrigued to know what else was recorded but left unreleased from the afternoon set.
