Somewhat rushed, somewhat flawed, Jimpress 114 will be out around the 20th. 98 pages of joy, or anguish, depending on your perspective.

Echo the DULL THUD.

Dull & Thud are the reality of this wasted opportunity by EH in NOT laying down an ABSOLUTELY DEFINITIVE [for all time] release that would've been the most wonderful tribute to Jimi's greatest studio release.

Gary G's synopsis as to how a proper version may have been done properly, is the perfect observation.
So much has been left out from the 'Making Of...' You could write a book. Gary has.

IF EH failed to put the record ABSOLUTELY straight this time around, what hope [however naive] is there of something a whole lot better?

5 out of 10 EH.

Hang your heads in shame.

5 out of 10, really?

I'm not being facetious but I'd hit this at zero out of any number you care to measure it against!

Sure it has a few nice points, the few outs that are new [too few], great live set [wrong place], Hirez audio [wrong format], new mastering [ how can I put this? F****d up], do I have to run through the whole set before you get where I'm coming from?

No matter what little bit I actually like it is far too little to make this a set worthy of JIMI HENDRIX, remember him?

To those who did this mess, you either have no clue about producing a release or you just don't have the first idea as to how celebrate JIMI HENDRIX ELECTRIC LADYLAND 50th ANNIVERSARY, no clue at all.

Shame on you.

Sorry chaps, this should be in the recent release section :-)

Nice message from Chris Welch :) .....

Hi Steve

Many thanks for the Jimipress issue 114 which arrived safely at the weekend. I was very impressed with the
layout and all your hard work in producing such a nice tribute. I wasn't expecting so many photos
and illustrations which really makes the piece look like a spread in a Sunday colour magazine supplement! Well done for
carefully and accurately editing my lengthy peroration (if that's the right word), which must have taken many an hour slaving
over a hot Desk Top. Also pass on my thanks to editor Steve Rodham for devoting much space
to the interview in his splendid magazine. I seem to remember the days when it was a typewritten
fanzine - it's a highly professional glossy publication now and a credit to Jimi's memory.

all the best

Chris
